Summer Wrap Up

Nobody remembered a lick of last summer. Not a day. A rough rundown of the events stuck around for awhile, but now it might as well be a blank.

Wait hold on, tangent, I’m not kidding, I was writing this, remembered photos exist. I just looked back at my camera roll, and apparently I went to DISNEY WORLD?

The point is, in my world, if you don’t write it down, you don’t remember. That’s why this was such a personally important project, and I’m glad I got to use it for university. It’s not a journal, like planned– but it’s a wonderful proof of existence.

The responses we’ve received have been heartening. In a summer where everything that could go wrong has been, it’s been nice to have an excuse to make art and connect.

We’re planning to keep posting here, if we don’t forget!

Thank you all for seeing us.

“Fronting Bracelets”

When a specific alter is conscious and in control, we call that “fronting”. When that alter changes, we call that “switching”. For example, I, Tom am “fronting” right now! That means I’m the one physically typing this.

Sometimes, switching is obvious. Other times, it’s not. This is really good for day-to-day stuff– we’d rather people not call us out in the middle of class. But when people who are “in the loop” can’t tell, it can cause issues.

That sounds awfully dramatic, actually. Essentially, Andrew’s a big marshmallow, and no-one else is, so people kept thinking we were mad at them.

All of our roommates are “in the loop”. So, we decided on a solution: different bracelets to wear depending on who is “fronting”.

7/4/26: “Goodnight I hope I see you tomorrow”

A quirk of dissociation is that some alters/parts can appear/act younger than others. This is a drawing by a “child” part.

He goes by a bunch of different names and appears sporadically– we don’t talk about him much, but he drew this and felt okay with sharing it. If he ever decides to write here, his text will be orange.
